Privacy has become a big challenge not just in our country but in so many nations. Almost every Application is tracking and monitoring our activities. The recent trending app named as Faceapp was highly dangerous when it comes to their terms and conditions. Giant companies such as Facebook, Google sell our data to third parties. Government of India is doing a wonderful especially in the field of Information Security & Cyber Crime. Many initiatives of GOI such as Digital India, Skill India, Make in India etc are much appreciative, but Government also need to be concern about our data privacy.
What happened when it came publicly that Facebook is selling Indian user’s data to their intelligence agencies? As per my knowldege, Mark Zukerberg just wrote an apology letter to our Prime Minister Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi ji and matter got closed. Questions on UIDAI ( Unique Identification Authority of India | Aadhar) data security has been raised many times as well. India is a Superpower in IT & also is world’s 3rd country to spread Cyber Security Awareness by conducting conferences, workshops, trainings, seminars, webinars etc.

Take a look at the photo above.
Apps like Hotstar takes permission of even our “body sensors”. Is Hotstar a fitness app? Absolutely NO! Still apps are taking unnecessary permissions to get our data, activities, interests etc to make money.
This is a serious issue and this is the time to pass Personal Data Protection Bill 2019 in India which has already been reviewed and draft was submitted to Ministry of IT&E in July 2018. Parliament should pass this bill as soon as possible to protect our Data & Privacy.
